Avante Gardens Google Maps
In late June Cathy Hillen-Rulloda of Avante Gardens announced their Google Map of Wedding Flowers and Special Event Decor on the shops blog. For this (among many other feats) Cathy has earned recognition from some of Local Search’s finest including David Mihm. Not only is this a fabulous way to showcase your work, but talk about creative use of completely free technology! Just imagine the positive impression and reputation this gives to clients and first time buyers.

Mocha Rose Wedding Tweets
April at Mocha Rose Floral Designs announced on their blog that they will be “tweeting” behind the scenes of what goes on when putting together flowers for a wedding. Not only is this a great idea (and timing!) but she’s taken the time to announce it on their website and Twitter profile as well. The build up to this weeks tweets has gained her a steep increase in new followers as I’m sure it will continue to do throughout her innovative use of this Social Media.

Enchanted Florist Twitter PSA’s
Brandon at Enchanted Florist has become somewhat of a Local Florist ambassador on Twitter since he joined in May 2008 nabbing the username “Florist” (phew, a good guy got it!). The fearless tweets from @Florist to and about Florist Order Gatherers are like Public Service Announcements to fellow florists, but also refreshingly honest to his followers. This crusade to educate people about ordering direct from local Florists and willingness to pass on business to other Florists earns Enchanted Florist likely much more than complete trust from their clients.

Belvedere Flowers Are Moving and Shaking
Adam Pomerantz from Belvedere Flowers is shaking things up online with his creative use of video. Since March 2009 he has been recording and uploading his wedding videos to their website and regularly adds to Belvedere’s YouTube profile which now boasts a 72 video library! Though video might not be for everyone, and it can be time consuming at first, Belvedere has personalized their shop in a way that customers love and can instantly relate with. A picture might be worth a thousand words, but Belvedere has gone above and beyond in proving they take every order seriously… and with heart.
So there you have it! Some stellar examples of things that with relatively no cost, can make a huge impression on customers, whether you are trying to show a great reputation, educate your customers or build trust. Florists just like you are making their mark online with creative and fun Web Marketing, all using free resources on the Web:
- Avante Gardens created their custom weddings & events map in Google Maps (free)
- Mocha Rose is sharing her weddings behind the scenes on Twitter (free)
- Enchanted Florist is educating customers and gaining trust using Twitter (free)
- Belvedere Flowers is recording videos using Flip Video (camcorders start at $180, but you can use any kind) and posting them using YouTube (free)

Love reading about what other florists are doing creatively online. We like to do a bit of this ourselves too; our Auckland Florist recently got coverage in Springwise for the E-Guarantee we offer our customers; meaning when they order online, we send them a free digital photo of their exact gift so they know what they get :-)
